Another article by Mindi McDowell, this one dating back to 2004, but still very relevant. This title describes some of the different "scripting languages" that are typically used to provide "active content" on web sites. Ms. McDowell summarizes the article in the following manner:

This article is mostly informational and doesn't provide any real "solutions" to help users safeguard themselves while browsing the net.

Power Management in Windows XP

The only change to this information is I don't see any reason to have the laptop's hard drive go to sleep after the pictured 10 minutes when the laptop is plugged in!
