A SUDDEN FLASH OF ENLIGHTENMENT

A sudden flash of enlightenment does not need training. It does not require an educational system. It is inborn nature, not dependent on any kind of training at all.

AzTEA Technology Conference Tucson 2006

Attended the AzTEA Technology Conference yesterday (1/28/06) held at Pueblo High School (TUSD). Keynote speaker was David Warlick or here at Warlick's home page. I found Mr. Warlick's keynote speech interesting and entertaining—struck quite a note with me.

Ban on Vista

I see that the current Amphi price sheet lists Windows Vista as the current operating system of choice for new systems and can be ordered for existing PCs in the district. There is virtually no top-down direction about this from Technology department and that could be a real nightmare for users who are buying new machines AND are at schools that are still running Novell. LaserJets and Toner Warnings

How-To Guide for Redistributing Laser Toner

You may be seeing TONER LOW messages on the networked LaserJet where you print. The printer starts displaying that message when there is about 1/3 toner left. You can ignore the message until you start getting a streak down the the left side of the printout or there are gaps in the printed page. The toner is still OK at this point. You can do the following (or call me if you need help):

VCR-TV Connection

Here's a quick overview of connecting a typical classroom VCR to a Samsung TV (the common television installed in campus classrooms.) The 3 cable RCA assembly has a Yellow, White, and Red cable. This cable is best for TV/VCR connections because it provides the best image and sound quality. Many classrooms have a coax cable connecting the TV/VCR: this cable carries both the video and audio signals over one cable and ties up the cable TV network connection into the TV.
