Adding/Updating Clip Art in Office 2007

I've had a trouble call from a user who was having problems seeing all of her clip art in different Microsoft Office 2007 applications. Here are some of the options to check:

  1. Open Microsoft Word 2007 and select the Insert menu.
  2. Click on the Clip Art icon -- a window (Clip Art) opens on the right side of the screen. The All collections option is selected under the Search in label. Make sure that the Everywhere checkbox is checked under All Collections drop-down list and that all other option categories underneath are checked. Make sure that All media file types is selected under the Results should be: label.
  3. Type in a search term under the Search for: label. Use door to test and press the GO button. The search should display numerous entries with the door tag.
  4. Click on an entry to have it placed at the current insertion point in Word.

Clicking on the Organize clips... option in the Clip Art window opens the Microsoft Clip Organizer program. The left side frame is labeled as Collection List. Click the left/right arrows beneath the label and the frame changes to the Search screen where you can type a keyword tag to search the different clip art collections.

Click the + next to the Office Collections list to expand it and show its contents. Make sure that the Everywhere checkbox is checked under All Collections drop-down list and that all other option categories underneath are checked. You can browse through the categories shown in the expanded list. Alternately, you can click on the + sign next to Web Collections list and show the Microsoft Office Online list. The entries in this collection automatically retrieve the media entries from Microsoft's web site, making the media available to you on your local PC.
